In a bold stride towards achieving the Sustainable Livelihood goals of the Umaru Mohammed Bago Agenda, the Ministry of Communications Technology and Digital Economy continues to champion initiatives that drive inclusion, empowerment, and resilience at the grassroots level.
Recently, the Honourable Commissioner, Suleiman Isah, paid a strategic visit to Gwada, where he joined representatives from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to oversee the ICT training for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the area.
The training took place at the newly commissioned Senator Mohammed Sani Musa ICT Centre—a hub of innovation and opportunity now serving as a beacon of hope for displaced communities.
A Vision of Resettlement Through Empowerment
The goal of this initiative is clear: equip IDPs with practical digital skills that will ease their resettlement journey, foster self-reliance, and unlock new pathways for sustainable income generation. Participants were introduced to foundational ICT tools, digital literacy, and tech-enabled business solutions that can transform their everyday lives.
“This isn’t just training—it’s a lifeline. It’s about giving people the skills, tools, and confidence to start again and build a better future.”
— Hon. Commissioner Suleiman Isah
A Collaboration That Delivers Impact
This impactful program was fully sponsored by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), a testament to the power of effective State-Federal partnerships in driving community development. The Ministry applauds NCC’s continued commitment to Tech for Good, particularly in vulnerable communities.
The Road Ahead
This is only the beginning. As the Bago Agenda unfolds, the Ministry remains dedicated to expanding ICT access and training across all LGAs, ensuring that every citizen—regardless of circumstance—has a seat at the table in our fast-evolving digital economy.
Together, we are turning displacement into determination, and adversity into advancement.
